I suppose I always wanted to be a guitar player who sings, in the Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler or Rory Gallagher mould. Of course I pretty quickly realised I was never going to get close as a guitar player to those kind of people. But in the last few years I've realised that in fact I'm a singer who plays guitar. A small but important shift. Especially in the last couple of years, thanks to some vocal coaching from Lorn at Leicester Vocal Tech https://leicestervocaltech.co.uk/ I've learned a lot about how to use my voice to better effect. I initially started the coaching to try to make sure I was singing properly, to make sure I can keep singing for as many years as possible. I never expected to improve my range and technique in the way I have. Even if you can already sing, I would strongly recommend vocal coaching from a coach like Lorn who listens to what you want achieve.
